Hitting a Hand

You will be faced with many player decisions when playing Blackjack and one of these is hitting a hand and this simply means that you are going to receive another card in additional to the two cards you have already been dealt.

This additional card will be given to you completely free of charge and you can hit your initial hand as many time as you want.

Hitting at the wrong time will result in you playing a poor game and this will effect the House Edge dramatically so if you wish to play a perfect game of Blackjack then make sure you use one of our Strategy cards which are free of charge and we have one for every online Blackjack game.

Make the correct move
The two things you should checkout when deciding whether to hit your hand or not is what you are holding and what the dealers up card is, once you know both those then simply follow the correct strategy as dictated on the strategy card.

There are several hitting moves that require no deep thought and this is when you are playing a single deck game and should you be holding either a 5, 6, 7 or 8 then no matter what card the dealer is showing then the correct move to make is to hit your hand.

Also make sure you always hit your hand when you have a 12, 13, 14, 15 or 16 and the dealer is holding a 7, 8, 9, 10 or an Ace, this is a no brainer move, but don't make the mistake of novice players and stand these hands when playing.

If you have been dealt what is known as a soft hand in a single deck game, (this is simply a hand which contains an Ace in it) and the value of that hand is 13, 14, 15, 16 or 17 then you should always hit that hand also, irrespective of what the dealer is holding.

Correct Strategy
As mentioned if you wish to play a perfect game (and everyone should be wanting to do this) then, as mentioned you should print off and save our Strategy Cards which will greatly increase your winning chances, but only if you follow them religiously!

Finally never be bullied into making the wrong move when playing at a Blackjack table, if the correct strategy says hit your hand then this is what you should do.
